Exhibition |
For over a century the magazines image, fashion intelligence and fame have sparked curiosity among readers and enthusiasm among industry insiders. The history of Vogue is, above all, the history of beauty - which can now be explored at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (Allée Julien-Cain) through an exhibition of about a hundred photographs culled from one thousand two hundred issues of the magazine. The exhibition demonstrates the multiple ways in which Vogue has seen or shown women. It charts the changing idea of beauty from one era to the next in images by master photographers such as Helmut Newton and Bettina Rheims. With this exhibition, the Bibliothèque Nationale remains faithful to its credo of exploring all forms of culture, taking us on a glamorous trip through the history of fashion and beauty. Well worth seeing. F.H.R. http://www.parisinfo.com For more information www.bnf.fr
